SEC Chair Nomination Hearing Scheduled

On March 20, 2025, the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (“Banking Committee”) announced that it will hold a confirmation hearing on the nomination of Paul Atkins to be a commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission.  Atkins previously served as an SEC commissioner from 2002 to 2008.  He is currently the CEO of consultancy firm Patomak Global Partners. 

The confirmation hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.  At the same hearing, the Banking Committee will also consider the nominations of Jonathan Gould to be Comptroller of the Currency and Luke Pettit to be an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.
