As an associate in our Environmental, Health, and Safety Practice, Zaheer Tajani focuses on all areas of environmental law, counseling clients on new project development, compliance obligations, investigations, and administrative defense.
Zaheer Tajani counsels clients around the globe on a broad range of ever-evolving topics related to environmental laws, policy, and compliance. Zaheer's clients cover a wide range of sectors, including private, state, and federal entities, and industrial sectors, including automotive and other industrial product manufacture, renewable energy and energy transition, public and private land management, waste management, and infrastructure. Zaheer comes to the practice of law with a background in environmental engineering where he worked in environmental remediation in the private sector and, later, at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Water.
Zaheer's work ranges from helping clients create and implement compliance and audit plans for large industrial facilities to supporting work in the energy transition and renewable energy space, and crisis management. Zaheer's regulatory practice focuses on compliance and litigation related to a broad set of environmental statutes. These include:
Zaheer joined King & Spalding in 2025 after multiple years of private practice and in federal government. As a public servant, he served as Associate Deputy General Counsel at the Department of the Army where he focused on Supreme Court litigation and water and infrastructure matters for the Army Corps of Engineers. He also served as a Senior Advisor to the Solicitor at the Department of the Interior and as a Senior Deputy Associate Counsel in the White House.
